Musiker*innen aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum, unabhängig von Nation und kultureller Herkunft, die noch nicht unter Vertrag eines Major Labels stehen, können sich ab sofort um diesen Preis bewerben. Die Prinzen-Frontmann Sebastian Krumbiegel, der in der diesjährigen Jury des Songpreises ist, verkündete bei der großen Geburtstagsgala für Rio am 08.01. in der Berliner Volksbühne den Bewerbungsstart.
